As many of you know, The Digital Kierkegaard consisted of regular quotes from the great Danish thinker Søren Kierkegaard (1813-55), plus explanatory comments from me. While taking a break from the The Digital Kierkegaard to finish a pair of books (both due later in 2022), I decided to synthesize a pair of informal projects that I’ve been working on over the years. The first is Theology + Culture, a blog dealing with the intersection of theological questions and cultural forms. The second, naturally, is The Digital Kierkegaard. From these two ideas has emerged a third and (I hope) consummate one—namely, Just FYI. The goal is straightforward: each day (Monday - Saturday), I will present a quote from a notable thinker or writer, plus a book, film, idea, issue, or song that has been inspiring, intriguing, or puzzling me. Needless to say, Kierkegaard will remain an important part of this endeavor, but it will be in a more diffuse, multifarious way. Indeed, one of the things I’m looking forward to with Just FYI is the opportunity to put Kierkegaardian concepts in conversation with a number of different sources.
For those who subscribed to The Digital Kierkegaard: thank you both for your interest and for bearing with me over the last few months. For those who have just stumbled upon this page: please subscribe to Just FYI and keep coming back. The first post on Just FYI will be on February 12, 2022.
Welcome back.
